The California Imagist Movement builds communities that use art, science, and history to examine the natural and human environment in California, while addressing environmental and social justice issues.

People often feel excluded from the pursuit of science because it feels as though the discipline is reserved for an elite few. They feel as though history does not tell their story. The California Imagist Movement bridges these gaps by talking about science in a human focused way. We empower people to learn about and tell their own histories, those that have often been forgotten.
